Marquetry

All the pieces of furniture in our Marquetry Collection are veneered in pale cherry wood. Each one has the same decorative theme of coloured floral/ribbon designs, with a ribbed frieze around the top and drawers which are framed with dental edging. Marquetry decoration is meticulously cut from sheets of coloured veneer, and each piece is toasted in hot sand to give it a dimensional shaded look. It is positioned and glued by hand, and a very fine pen is used to sharpen the shapes and add details to the leaves and flowers. We can work to customer’s own specifications, and would be pleased to discuss and develop any projects they would like to have made with veneer or marquetry decoration.
